Throughout the past 10 years, we have been blessed with the presence of some incredible women who have helped influence and shape our PULSE community.

Some are pioneers, others are just starting to make their mark on the Hip Hop dance world, but we are so grateful that they are all a part of our PULSE family. We want to take a minute to share with you their stories and some history behind the styles they practice and love. The first queen we want you to know more about is Marjory Smarth. Marjory was a world-renowned House dancer, who moved to New York in from Haiti.

She began dancing in the clubs and later became a major influence to those in the dance community. Before Marjory started dancing professionally and performing for various artists, you could catch her dancing at the clubs and engaging in street jams and battles. After many tours with Diana Ross, Heavy D, and CeCe Peniston just to name a few , she began choreographing and hosting classes where she became an instant role model all around the world to those who frequented her dance classes.

Live True and Dance Free. That was Marjory. She danced to express herself, and connect with everyone who came to her class on the dance floor. She was known for her strength, presence and incredible sense of kindness and ability to connect with everyone. Unfortunately, Marjory was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in She will continue to be known for the incredible mark she made and is a huge role model and pioneer of the Hip Hop and House Dance community.

Her style and influence on House Dance can still be seen today.
